Detroit earned it's bad reputation in the 90s when the downtown was actually pretty bad. Nowadays, the city is improving. 81% had her leaving Detroit, and 18% had her captured (this overlaps because you can get her caught in the streets of Detroit and sent to the recycling center). Experiencing Detroit like a local Hi! We are a couple (35y) visiting Detroit for 2.5 days. We will have a car and will be staying downtown (Oct 25-28) We will be there Wednesday evening to Saturday noon. We love experiencing places like a local so I am looking for tips and off the beaten path suggestions to enjoy Detroit like a local.
